Instructions for Use :
Mix using the recommended powder/liquid ratio of 1g of powder to 0.5ml of liquid. The mixture reaches a dough-state in 20-30 seconds after mixing. All manipulation should be finished before 2 minutes from start of the mix.
Relining :
- Clean denture by brushing with soap and water. Using a sand paper disc, trim down high spots and rough surface around periphery.
- To ensure a completely uniform bond ,coat denture with any acrylic monomer (Hiflex RR Liquid)
- To protect surfaces not to be bonded, such as acrylic teeth, interproximal areas, outer ridge of denture, opposing denture, any acrylic fillings, jackets or bridges, coat all surfaces with mineral oil/separating medium. This prevents the acrylic from curing to these surfaces.
- Pour a measuring 5cc of liquid into a mixing cup and then add a 10g of powder and stir thoroughly with Stainless Steel spatula.
- Allow the mix to gel for about 2 minutes, or until it reaches the consistency at which you wish to work.
- Spread the mix into the ridge area, covering from crest of ridge to periphery. Also spread mix across the post dam area.
- Place denture into patient’s mouth and patient close jaws slowly to a biting position, bringing teeth into occlusion. Patient should suck into his/her cheeks to achieve muscle trim.
- After three additional minutes in patients mouth, remove the denture and check coverage and muscle trim. Material can be added or trimmed away at this time.
- Re-enter denture into patient’s mouth for another three minutes keeping teeth in relaxed occlusion. Remove denture from patient’s mouth and allow to bench cure for 20 minutes.
Repair:
Preparation of repair areas
Stabilise the fractured parts of the prosthesis with splints and sticky wax, Pour a cast after proper stabilization. After hardening of the cast, apply separating Agent. Open the repair area to approximately 1⁄4 inch, and bevel the edges of opening. Smooth all contacting edges of repair areas with pumice for best results. Sprinkle-on procedure: The powder particles should be sprinkled in successive thin layers over the repair area, followed by moistening each layer with liquid. The repair area should be slightly over contoured for best results.
Curing: HIFLEX RR sets in approximately 10 minutes. The denture, mounted upon its stone cast, is immediately submerged in warm water 43°C (110°F.) Minimum air pressure of 15 psi is applied for 10 minutes, and the result is maximum density in the repaired area.
Finishing and polishing:
Grind off excess over-contouring (down to the level of the denture surface) with a sandpaper cone .To polish, use a brush and rag wheels with pumice.
Warning :
- DO NOT leave reline plastic to completely self-cure in the patient’s mouth. The exothermic heat of self-curing can be uncomfortable and can burn tender tissue.
